Roof claim denied in Hutto? What do I do next?

If a roof claim in Hutto has been denied or underpaid, the decision was made on the file your insurer had. A documented second inspection is what changes that file: every slope walked, test squares marked and counted, hail impacts and wind damage photographed with dates, collateral damage on soft metals recorded, and a measured written scope. You can then request a reinspection, submit a supplement, or use your policy's appraisal clause for a dispute about the amount. Texas law does not allow a roofing contractor to act as your public adjuster or negotiate your claim — we document and repair the roof, and your insurer decides coverage and payment.

How we work

What roof insurance claims
actually involves.

A second, thorough inspection

Every slope, not a walk round the front. Marked test squares, dated photographs of impacts and fractures, and a note of what is not storm damage.

The written record your file was missing

A measured roof diagram, a line-item scope with material specifications and a plain-language summary you can send to your insurer.

Meeting the adjuster with you

If your insurer schedules a reinspection we can be on the roof at the same time to point out the documented findings and answer construction questions.

Your options, explained plainly

Written denial, reinspection, supplement, appraisal clause, a TDI complaint, or a licensed public adjuster or attorney if you want representation in the claim itself.

Who permits roofing work in Hutto

Inside the city limits, the Permits and Inspections Division of Hutto’s Development Services Department reviews residential permit applications and carries out inspections, with applications submitted online. Hutto sits on open, flat Blackland Prairie ground in Williamson County, and some homes nearby are outside the city limits, where the city’s building division is not the reviewing authority.

What we have worked on in Hutto

Our published Hutto records run from July 2024 to June 2026: fifteen jobs, most of them full roof replacements. Several were storm-driven — high winds that stripped shingles, and hail damage on newer homes in May 2025 — and several were in the Mustang Creek neighborhood, including roofs finished in IKO Dynasty and IKO Cambridge shingles. The records also include wind-damage shingle repairs and an emergency tarp installed to keep water out until the roof could be repaired.

Hutto questions

Straight answers.

My claim was denied. Can you get it approved?

No contractor can promise that, and Texas Insurance Code §4102.163 does not allow a roofer to act as your public adjuster or negotiate your claim. What we do is document the roof thoroughly and attend the reinspection with your permission. The insurer decides coverage and payment.

The adjuster said it is "wear and tear". What now?

Hail impact and age-related wear look alike from the ground. Marked test squares, close photographs of fractures versus granule loss, and collateral damage on vents and soft metals are what separate the two in a written record.

Do I still pay my deductible?

Yes. Texas requires the policyholder to pay the applicable deductible, and a contractor may not waive, rebate or absorb it. Your insurer may ask for proof that you paid it.

My Hutto home is only a few years old. Can the roof really need replacing?

Yes, if a storm damaged it. Several of our Hutto replacements were on newer homes after hail or high winds. Age tells you how much life the roof had left; it does not tell you what the storm did. A slope-by-slope inspection with photographs answers that.

Wind took a few shingles off. Is that a repair or a new roof?

Often a repair: replacing the missing shingles and checking that the ones around them still seal. It becomes a larger conversation when the damage is spread across several slopes or the replacement shingles cannot be matched. We photograph what we find and tell you which case you are in.
